Materials:
One pair 5 mm (US 8) needles
Worsted weight cotton (a solid colour is best to show the stitch texture)
(This stitch pattern is in multiples of 10 + 5, with 12 rows for each repeat.)
Cast on 35 stitches.
Work the pattern as follows:
Row 1: *p5, k1, [p1, k1] twice. Repeat from * to last 5 stitches, p5
Row 2: k5, *[k1, p1] twice, k1, k5. Repeat from * to end
Rows 3 - 6: Repeat rows 1 and 2 twice more
Row 7: k1, [p1, k1] twice, * k5, k1, [p1, k1] twice. Repeat from * to end.
Row 8: k1, [p1, k1] twice, * p5, k1, [p1, k1] twice. Repeat from * to end.
Rows 9 - 12: Repeat rows 7 and 8 twice more.
Continue in this pattern until rows 1 - 12 have been worked a total of 4 times. Cast off.
